But I'll still enjoy playing this diablo a bit here and there between seasons of whatever game. Do I wish this game was balanced to be a 60$ game or subscription game. The ceiling is absurd and the pay mechanics are terribly shameful and predatory. Just running ZK or Mad king on a different difficulty. Yeah gems, resonance and cr are all good things but I agree with you other than a very few select things there is really no difference in actual gameplay. Server paragon level still keeps whales from being able to equip the higher tier gear til later anyways. What are we really missing out on by not spending. But the illusion here is thinking you can "win", fanned by the flames of "I feel so much stronger". The monetization is degusting and clearly designed around very real psychology and I am not defending it. But I’m serious, am I supposed to win something? It feels like the outrage is click bait and the band wagon is super fun. What am I missing with this analysis? Am I supposed to win something? I honestly had no idea I was competing with you guys. The paying player in DI is just clearing dungeons quicker while sat on the toilet. It isn’t like we’re playing battlefield and the paying player has a jet pack, laser gun and active shield. Pointing out that the shop has so much to buy, or that 5 star gems won’t drop for the free player is just a long way of saying “you won’t get to as high a rift or become immortal, if you’re not bored by then anyways”. There is no pay to win, because you can’t win. Which is a special tier designed to make whales feel pretty. The only real aspect you can buy and only access with spending cash is becoming “Immortal”. Or a leg up in PvP, which almost nobody cares about. It doesn’t matter if it’s 5 star gems or what, all you have technically bought is a quicker rift time. And that feeling might inspire you to spend a few more.īut be aware. You’ll simply hit a bit harder, feel a bit stronger, finish a bit faster. If you spend a few hundred on DI and I don’t. A faster rift time? A win in PvP, a long loooooong forgotten and almost entirely ignored aspect of Diablo since it’s birth? I know people are having a lot of fun dissing the P2W aspect of DI and the predatory means they use to extract cash.īut what exactly are those who pay “winning”.
